I always have an eye out for quick and easy DIY projects, and this fits the profile perfectly!
For ages I have been tossing my used corks in a drawer whenever I pop open a bottle, waiting for something useful like this to catch my eye. This DIY cork trivet has a great minimalist look that is simple, easy and would fit on most counters or tables.

All you need is a bunch of wine corks and superglue. If you don’t have 60 wine corks lying around the house, you can buy corks here at Urban Vintner.
Start by gluing 3 corks together – you have to use superglue and not a hot glue gun. Continue to glue corks to each other until you have a circular shape. It needs to be big enough to rest a pot on top. Once it’s, dry, it’s ready to use.
If you are looking for something a little more involved with a bit of woodworking, check out these other styles. I even have friends that have set their corks in a frame similar to this and hung it on their wall as a feature piece – looks great next to the wine rack!
